Camso Inc., of Quebec, Canada is recalling about 280 of the model-year 2017 Camso DTS 129 dirt to snow bike conversion kits after receiving 17 reports involving the brake systems not working correctly.
No injuries have been reported. Another 316 of the conversion kits were recalled in Canada.
According to a recall notice posted by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) in conjunction Canadian safety officials:
The pin that secures the brake pads can loosen, posing a crash or impact hazard. Consumers should stop using bikes with the recalled conversion kits and contact an authorized Camso dealer for a free repair.”
Camso has received 17 reports involving the DTS 129 brake systems not functioning correctly. No injuries have been reported.
The 2017 Camso DTS 129 kits convert off-road motorcycles or dirt bikes into track-and-ski vehicles. They have a serial number starting with 9025IUEXXXX on the front right side of the undercarriage.
They were sold at Powersports dealerships nationwide between August 2016 and May 2017 for about $4,800.
